My name is Anand Murali and I am working as a Technical Lead in the Document360 team.
How did you get an opportunity to work for Kovai.co?
I first heard of Kovai.co from my brother-in-law, who was working for another company in the same tech park. I did a quick search about Kovai.co and found the company to my liking. So, I applied for a job posting through the Kovai.co website and here I am.
What principles do you think should a technical lead hold?
Eagerness towards learning new things, ability to choose the right solution depending on the scenario, good mentoring skills are some of the qualities that I believe a technical lead should have.
Do you use any time management tools?
Yes, I have tried a few but right now I am using the Pomodoro technique a lot. I follow the default standard where we have a 25-minute session followed by a 5-minute break. I found myself to be a lot efficient after following this technique, so I would recommend others to try it as well.
How’s the experience working for Document360 Team?
It is an awesome experience working for the Document360 team. One of the main characteristics of Document360 team is that you are never left alone, when tackling a difficult problem. There is also someone who is happy to join in on a call and help you tackle the problem. This is not only an efficient way to tackle a difficult problem, but it also makes it a fun experience.
Which is your favorite sport?
Cricket is my favorite sport. My friends were also equally interested so I used to play a lot of cricket in my school and college days. I used to be a fast bowler back then, but now I bowl medium pace. I also enjoy playing table tennis from time to time.
Do you remember the first thing you bought with your own money?
I do remember buying a ring for my sister with my first month salary. But there is an itsy-bitsy part of me that says that I had spent it on a quick snack for myself also. So, either one can be true.

I would recommend Kovai.co mainly for the work culture. In Kovai.co, any person who has the responsibility of managing a team is constantly reminded that they should never command and control, but rather should be a coach and empower every individual in his/her team.
