International Women’s Day is a moment to recognise the contributions of women and reflect on how workplaces can continue to support their growth. The theme for 2026, “Give to Gain,” speaks to the idea that real progress happens when individuals and organisations actively contribute to women’s advancement.
At Kovai.co, this belief is reflected in the way we approach work and people. Creating a supportive environment for women is not limited to a single day or initiative. It is part of how we think about building a workplace where everyone can grow.
Flexible working hours, work-from-home options, and maternity leave policies help women continue their careers while navigating different stages of life. We also understand that career journeys are not always linear. Over the years, we have supported women who stepped away for personal or family reasons and later returned to continue their careers with us. It has allowed talented people to return, pick up where they left off, and move forward with confidence.

With that in mind, we began our Women’s Day celebrations a little early this year, starting with surprises.
A Sweet Surprise at the Office
Everyone expected the usual treats for Women’s Day, but we wanted to try something more personal.
On the Friday before Women’s Day, every woman at Kovai.co received a custom cupcake. Each cupcake featured a tiny, edible photo of the person receiving it. We paired the cakes with handwritten greeting cards to appreciate and recognise them. No one was left out of the celebration. Our admin and security teams joined in the fun, too. It was a lovely way to brighten up a busy Friday afternoon.
Our people were also excited because all our cupcakes came in three different flavours. It set the mood for the rest of the weekend.
Weekend Movie Outing
The celebrations didn’t stop when the office closed for the week. On Saturday evening, we all met up again to watch a film together at Brookfields, Coimbatore. Almost all our women employees made it to the cinema. A few of the children came along with their moms and made new friends.
We watched Thaai Kizhavi, which was recently released. The story was women-centric, with a strong message to society. It turned out to be a very fitting choice for the occasion of Women’s Day celebration.

As an intern new to the company, the Women’s Day celebration was a lovely surprise. Going out for a movie with the entire team and enjoying it with popcorn was a lot of fun. But I have to admit that the cupcake with my face printed on it was my favourite part. It felt like such a delightful and unexpected gesture.
