Document360 had an incredible experience at the tcworld conference in Stuttgart, Europe’s premier event for technical writers. Over three days, we immersed ourselves in networking, learning, market research, and connecting with potential customers all while adding a touch of fun and excitement to the event.
Our booth, decked out in Document360’s signature bright purple, stood out at the TEKOM fair and left a lasting impression on the audience.
Why tcworld Stuttgart?
Earlier this year, our leadership team decided to explore new customer acquisition channels. This led us to tcworld in Stuttgart, the largest gathering of technical writers in Europe, attracting 3,000–4,000 attendees annually.
“The goal was twofold: to acquire customers and gain deeper insights into the market—tools they use, pain points, and desired features,” explained Sunil Pillai, our Vice President of Marketing.
By focusing on technical writers, our primary audience, this event gave us an excellent opportunity to connect with the community and understand their evolving needs.
Spotlight on AI: Driving Industry Conversations
A highlight of our participation was delivering six impactful talks—two at the tcworld conference and four at the TEKOM fair. With AI being a hot topic, we tailored most of our sessions to address its growing influence on documentation.
Our Head of Data Science, Selvaraaju Murugesan, presented on “Content Audit for Gen AI Readiness” and “The Role of Technical Writers in Building Trust in Gen AI Systems.” At the fair, our executives, including VP Growth Suprej Venkat, Head of Outbound Sales Oscar Hackett, and Sales Executive Calum Gale, discussed practical applications of AI in documentation.
Each session drew a full house, sparking engaging interactions that provided valuable insights for both our speakers and the audience.
Our Booth: A Hub of Energy and Innovation
The Document360 booth stood out with its unique curved design, ample space, and interactive elements. Visitors experienced live demos of our AI-powered knowledge base features and explored a self-serve walkthrough demo.
Our branded merchandise pens, notebooks, water bottles, and stress balls was a hit, with our purple water bottles running out daily. Visitors also enjoyed activities like darts and miniature golf, adding a fun twist to the experience.
The lucky draw was another crowd favorite. Visitors who registered at the booth and followed us on LinkedIn received a poker chip for the draw. The grand prize a Microsoft Surface laptop was won by Krisztina Linka, a senior project consultant from Berlin.
Adding to the excitement, we hosted a lively stand party on the first day of the conference, serving beer to the audience and fostering great conversations.
Launch of Our German Website
A key milestone during the event was the launch of our German website, reflecting our commitment to expanding in the region.
This project, months in the making, aligns with our goal to provide localized resources for the German market. The website was officially unveiled by Michael Fritz, CEO of tcworld, alongside our CEO, Saravana Kumar, marking a significant step in our journey to engage with technical writers in Germany.
Meeting many of our existing customers also helped us educate them in person on the latest features and functionalities. It also helped us understand more about their work and how they use Document360, as well as their emerging needs in terms of features and functions to make the tool better impact their work.
Looking Ahead
The tcworld conference was a resounding success for Document360.
We connected with hundreds of technical writers, gathered valuable feedback, and showcased our innovations to an enthusiastic audience – said our founder and CEO, Saravana Kumar.
“As we continue to nurture these relationships and explore new opportunities, we’re excited to participate in future events to strengthen our presence in global markets,” said Suprej.
