At Kovai.co, growth looks different for different people.
For some, it means moving into a new role. For others, it means learning a new skill, taking on more responsibility, leading a team, or turning an idea into something real.
There isn’t a single path that everyone follows. Over the years, people have grown in different ways, often discovering opportunities they didn’t expect when they first joined.
What remains consistent is the support to learn, contribute, and take ownership along the way.
Charulatha Ravichandran, Customer Success Specialist, says,
It all comes down to one hard decision – moving out of your comfort zone, choosing the tougher path, and trusting the people around you. My career shift at Kovai.co was one of those decisions. I moved from being a Technical Writer to a Customer Success Specialist, and stepping into a completely new role was challenging. However, the opportunities I received and the people who believed in me helped me earn that trust back. Looking back, I can see how it all led me to where I was meant to be. Kovai.co is more than willing to give internal opportunities to us, and that leads to more satisfaction, more growth, and more learning.
Interns Who Hit the Ground Running
Many people begin their journey at Kovai.co as interns.
The internship experience focuses on practical learning. Interns work on real projects, contribute to ongoing initiatives, and receive regular feedback from their teams.
For many, the experience becomes the start of a longer journey. Many interns have gone on to join full-time roles after proving themselves through their work. In fact, some of the people who started as interns are now leading teams and managing functions across the company.
Some stay. Some move on to pursue other opportunities. Either way, the goal remains the same: meaningful learning and hands-on experience.
Sabarish Shivakumar, Senior Software Engineer, says,
When I joined Kovai.co as an intern, I never imagined how much I would learn over the years. Working on real projects, receiving constant guidance, and being trusted with greater responsibilities helped me grow both professionally and personally. Five years later, I’m grateful for the journey that took me from an intern to a Senior.
Learning Beyond Day-to-Day Work
At Kovai.co, growth doesn’t stop with day-to-day work. Through a dedicated programme, called the Employee Wallet, our people can invest in learning opportunities that support their professional development.
Learning is also embedded in the way we work. Our Sales Effectiveness programme helps the sales team continuously sharpen their skills through regular learning sessions, while engineers and other teams participate in technical and core skill development programmes tailored to their roles.
Beyond structured programmes, learning is driven by the community. Weekly AI knowledge-sharing sessions, along with a dedicated learning channel where employees share new ideas, experiments, and insights, create opportunities for everyone to learn from one another and stay ahead of emerging trends.
Earlier this year, members of our Frontend Angular team used this benefit to attend ng-India 2026 in Gurgaon, one of the largest Angular conferences in the country. Our engineers explored topics ranging from Angular fundamentals to advancements that support their job nature.
Recently, members of our Data Science team, Surya Murugan and Sriharan Thirumurithi, represented Kovai.co at MongoDB.local Bengaluru, where they shared the engineering journey behind Document360’s Eddy AI. The session covered the evolution of the product, key technical learnings, and the challenges of building AI solutions at scale.
Opportunities like these allow learning to extend beyond the workplace and into the wider technology community.
Growing Into Leadership
Technical skills are one part of growth. Leadership is another.
Programmes such as Manager Mastery help people develop skills that become increasingly important as responsibilities grow. Topics like communication, ownership, decision-making, and team management form an important part of that journey.
Leadership often develops through experience, but having opportunities to learn from others can make that transition smoother.
Ideas That Ship
Another fun part of learning and growth at Kovai.co is the Hackathon. Our recent Code Red AI Hackathon brought together teams from across the company to explore how AI could improve everyday work.
Ideas ranged from process improvements and automation to product enhancements and internal solutions.
What made the hackathon meaningful was what happened afterwards. Several ideas moved beyond presentations and found their way into actual implementation.
The focus was not simply on generating ideas, but on creating solutions that could be put into practice.
Recognising More Than Job Titles
Every year, Kovision brings the company together to celebrate achievements across teams.
Recognition goes beyond targets and performance metrics. It includes leadership, teamwork, consistency, innovation, and contributions outside regular work as well.
While people are encouraged to take ownership and make decisions within their teams, their efforts are recognised across the company. Along with Kovision, we have also introduced quarterly awards to recognise and celebrate achievements throughout the year, rather than waiting for a single annual event.
Moments like these remind us that people contribute in different ways, and each of those contributions helps shape the company.
Responsibility Comes Early
One thing many people notice at Kovai.co is that responsibility often comes early.
People who show ownership are encouraged to take on more. New ideas are welcomed, conversations are accessible, and opportunities to learn are usually close at hand.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and it rarely follows a fixed plan. But when learning, ownership, and support come together, progress tends to follow.
Our Founder strongly believes that personal well-being plays an important role in how people contribute at work. When people have the space to maintain a healthy balance, they are able to bring more focus, energy, and ownership to what they do. That is why we focus on creating a workplace that supports both professional growth and everyday comfort.
If you are willing to learn, take ownership, and grow, the company grows with you.
And that’s what turns a job into something bigger.
