Following last quarter’s bootstrap champ award from The Economic Times, we have again been conferred with another prestigious award. We are excited and honoured to be declared winners of the Export Excellence Award by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The ministry recognized us as one of the highest exporters from an SEZ Unit in the IT/ITES group in 2019-’20. We received the award from the honourable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Smt Anupriya Singh Patel in a ceremony also attended by honourable Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu at the MEPZ premises in Chennai.
It was momentous to receive this award alongside prestigious IT and SaaS companies including Zoho, Tata Consulting Services and top Coimbatore-based firms like Premier Group, ZF Wind Power among others.
Kovai.co was working out of Tidel Park, a special economic zone in Coimbatore, between 2015-mid of 2020. Our years in Tidel Park are extremely special to the company because many crucial events in our growth story occurred then.
In 2016 we launched Serverless360 and Atomic Scope. In 2017, we conducted the hackathon, which eventually led to development and launch of Document360. Document360 was a huge breakthrough for us because it is a completely independent, pure SaaS product, with a much wider audience including the mid segment.
While we have managed to scale up our employee strength, we aim to take Kovai.co’s revenue from $10 million to $30 million in the next three years and attain $100 million over the next 10 years achieving unicorn status. Through this journey, recreating what Zoho and Freshworks did for Chennai, we want to make Coimbatore, which is a tier II city, a global SaaS hub contributing in a big way to its economy.
